The National Conference on Application Technology and Development Exchange of Gypsum Mortar and Vitrified Microspheres was successfully held in Xinyang, Henan Province from April 21 to 24, 2021. More than 800 people from upstream and downstream enterprises and experts in the gypsum industry from all over the country gathered in Xinyang to have in-depth exchanges on issues such as lightweight plastering gypsum, inorganic active insulation mortar, vitrified microbeads, and mixed calcined gypsum. They also visited well-known vitrified microbead production factories and gypsum mortar factories in Xinyang, and the conference was a complete success. Xinyang has the largest perlite deposit in Asia, with a very high grade, and its ore is particularly suitable for producing high-quality vitrified microbeads. Within a 300 kilometer radius, there are three provincial capitals, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, and Hefei, with convenient transportation, making it an ideal production base for lightweight aggregates for cement and gypsum. So, the holding of the Glass Bead and Gypsum Conference in Xinyang is by no means accidental.

The content of this exchange meeting is very rich. On April 22nd, Yang Jiaguo, the technical director of Zhimeitang, shared a research report titled 'How to refine high-strength and cost-effective mixed calcined gypsum'. He comprehensively introduced Zhimeitang's mixed calcined gypsum technology and development prospects from the aspects of 'significant advantages of mixed calcined gypsum', 'how mixed calcined gypsum is refined', 'typical application formula of mixed calcined gypsum', etc. The mixed calcined gypsum has opened up a new path for the utilization of desulfurization gypsum and phosphogypsum resources. It not only has high strength, but also has a high cost-effectiveness, which is very worthy of research. There are already multiple factories in Hubei Province that produce mixed calcined gypsum according to the technology of Zhimeitang and market it nationwide.

On April 23rd, Director Yang Jiaguo once again took the stage to interpret the T/CBCA 005-2020 group standard for expanded vitrified microbeads used in plastering materials. He explained the technical indicators and experimental methods of vitrified microbeads in a clear and concise manner, and focused on analyzing the development direction of lightweight flooring. As one of the drafting units responsible for this standard, Zhimeitang has always been committed to the research and development, production, and application of vitrified microbeads.

This conference is also an exhibition, with hundreds of companies from across the country participating and new products emerging one after another. In front of the booth of Zhimeitang, many customers came to inquire about Zhimeitang's homogeneous thixotropic agent products, mixed calcined gypsum technology, plastering, and self leveling formulas after listening to the speech. More than ten customers also ordered self leveling silicone molds on site.

In 2021, China proposed the great goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and we mortar workers are also duty bound. Today, efforts are being made nationwide to develop gypsum based building materials and gradually replace cement-based building materials, which is the most concrete manifestation of energy conservation and emission reduction in the construction industry. Mixing calcined gypsum and vitrified microbeads will undoubtedly make their due contributions to achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality!
