From“Focus on advanced phosphogypsum technology”to “Focus on advanced α gypsum technology”, a one-character difference, it profoundly reflects the transformation of Zhimeitang's gypsum research path.
Zhimeitang is located at the gateway of Jingchu, where phosphogypsum was once piled up like mountains and hardly utilized on a large scale. In view of this, since 2018, Zhimeitang has been deeply engaged in the research and development of phosphogypse-related technologies, completing important projects such as “Basic Research on Phosphogypsum eutectic phosphorus” and “Key Technologies for Calcination of Phosphogypsum Mixed gypsum”, and based on phosphogypsum, was the first in China to propose the sixteen-character process policy of “two grinding and one calcination, front and back homogenization, impurity removal and purification, cooling and aging” for β gypsum. It pointed out the direction for improving the calcination of various industrial by-products of gypsum into high-quality cementitious materials, and made certain contributions to the national promotion and application of lightweight plastering gypsum, gypsum-based self-leveling and other gypsum-based materials.
However, β -gypsum has always been a low-strength cementitious material, and despite the strong support of the national dual-carbon strategy, it still cannot replace cement in many aspects. At present, China and the world are in urgent need of high-performance, low-carbon cementitious materials that can match the strength of cement, and α -gypsum is undoubtedly the chosen one.
In 1899, 125 years ago, α -gypsum was invented abroad, but due to major technical and cost obstacles, it has never become a dominant cementitious material in China. For three years, Zhimeitang has been committed to the research of intelligent production processes and product application development of α gypsum, fully enhancing strength and reducing manufacturing costs. The 100,000-ton α gypsum powder factory jointly invested and established is finally going to start construction! At this historic moment, we have changed the signboard from 'phosphorus' to 'α'. The α gypsum technology developed by Zhimeitang can be used not only for phosphogypsum but also for other industrial by-product gypsum, truly turning the rotten into the magical and the waste into the treasure!

α is the first letter of the Greek alphabet, representing first and leader. Going from 0 (phosphorus) to 1 (α)is exploration, is originality, and is far more difficult than going from 1 to 10.
