Marching Forward with “Phosphorus”, Working Together to Build a city - The National Phosphogypsum Industry Comprehensive Utilization Technology Exchange Conference was Successfully Held in Guizhou

The “National Phosphogypsum Industry Comprehensive Utilization Technology Exchange Conference” hosted by Gypsum Building Materials Network was grandly held at the Louvre Jinxi Hotel in Guiyang City from September 26 to 29, 2020. More than 800 people, including representatives from upstream and downstream gypsum production enterprises across the country, as well as experts and professors from many prestigious universities, attended the event. The conference focused on the calcination technology of phosphogypsum and its application in the building materials industry, and visited the leading phosphogypsum enterprises in Guizhou, Wengfu Group and Guizhou Jinzhengda Nuotel Chemical Co., LTD.

There were 40 keynote speeches at the meeting. Zhang Tao, the president of Guizhou Phosphogypsum Industry Association, gave a speech on “The Current Situation and Development Trend of Phosphogypsum in Guizhou Province”, and Song Guofa, the general manager of Guizhou Zhenglin Technology Co., LTD., shared a topic on “The Right Words for Phosphogypsum”. Professor Li Dongxu from Nanjing Tech University gave a presentation on “Research, Preparation and Application of Gypsum Self-leveling Materials”, and Kong Fanqi, general manager of Guizhou Zhongneng High-tech Materials Co., LTD., shared “Performance Analysis of New High-Strength Gypsum-based Self-leveling”. Pan Chunhua, marketing director of Guizhou Zhenghe Tianzhu Technology Co., LTD., presented an exchange report on the promotion and application of phosphogypsum building materials.

As one of the organizers of the conference, Hubei Zhimeitang Gypsum New Technology Co., Ltd. not only set up a booth on site, but also shared the latest basic research results and application formula technology of Zhimeitang Laboratory on phosphogypsum with the participants. Yan Shaokang, the R&D manager of Zhimeitang, presented on the topic “Basic Research on Phosphogypsum Eutectic phosphorus”. It mainly covered aspects such as the structural morphology of eutectic phosphorus, the characterization of eutectic phosphorus structure, and the testing of eutectic phosphorus content. Yang Jiaguo, technical director of Zhimeitang, gave a detailed account of “Research on Phosphogypsum-based Lightweight Plastering and Self-leveling formulations with and without Sand molds”. The main content is about the progress of phosphogypsum impurity removal and purification, phosphogypsum-based lightweight plastering gypsum P160 formula, phosphogypsum-based thick layer self-leveling formula with sand mold and without sand mold, etc. At present, the latest gypsum technology developed by Zhimeitang can easily achieve a coating rate of 160m²/(t·cm) for plastering gypsum at a low cost, and the final dry compressive strength of the thick self-leveling can reach more than 28MPa. The entire meeting was full of excitement and thunderous applause.

The visit to the conference was also very rewarding. Delegates arrived at the Wengfu Gypsum Industrial Park by bus at 8:30 a.m. on September 29. They first visited the Wengfu Gypsum Exhibition Hall and then went to the gypsum powder and gypsum mortar production base for on-site visits. In the afternoon, they visited Jinzhengda Nuotel Chemical Co., LTD., inspected the α -high-strength gypsum powder production line, and observed the practical operation demonstration of phosphogypsum high-strength self-leveling on the spot.

Guizhou Province has taken the lead in the country in terms of phosphogypsum treatment and production technology, and phosphogypsum products are everywhere. This exchange conference brought together outstanding talents such as representatives of leading enterprises in the industry, elites, and scholars to jointly prepare a sumptuous feast full of “phosphorus” flavor, which benefited the participating enterprises and representatives greatly and made them more confident in the phosphogypsum industry. In recent years, Zhimeitang has been committed to basic and applied research on phosphogypsum, promoting large-scale production of phosphogypsum, and vigorously advocating the “12-word policy”for phosphogypsum treatment in China: two grinding and one burning, homogenization before and after, impurity removal and purification.
